Requirements
Marketing Requirements
MR1: The R.O.V. must ensure the safety of operators.
MR2: The R.O.V. must be water resistant.
MR3: The R.O.V. must be tethered for communications.
MR4: The R.O.V must allow operators to inspect at varying depths.
MR5: The R.O.V. must be modular for sensors.
MR6: The R.O.V. must maintain consistent depths without operator input.
Engineering Requirements
ER1: The R.O.V. must be controlled by a controller or computer with low latency (less than 2.5 seconds). (MR1; MR3; MR4 and MR6)
ER2: The R.O.V. must have no water leakage. (MR2)
ER3: The R.O.V. must have a light tether that avoids drag. The tether must not impede the rover’s movement.(MR3)
ER4: The R.O.V. must operate up to 10 feet underwater. (MR4)
ER5: The R.O.V must log depth and temperature readings every 30 seconds. (MR5)
ER6: The R.O.V. must maintain its position in the water column within ±6”. (MR6)
